Volunteer Applications Open MARCH 1ST!
From crafting personalized items to raising awareness about pediatric health, these programs bring together creativity, education, and community impact. Participants can join in stitching unique designs on everyday items while supporting a good cause, or get involved in hands-on workshops that teach students about the challenges of pediatric health and how to advocate through art, writing, and music. While some opportunities focus on volunteering, others are open to all students who want to make a difference and learn valuable skills along the way. Whether you're creating, learning, or advocating, each initiative aims to foster connection, compassion, and positive change.
Think Buddies is a year-long volunteer program designed to foster meaningful, supportive connections between volunteers and pediatric patients in local hospitals. Each volunteer is carefully matched with one patient, or "buddy," based on shared interests, allowing for a personalized experience that nurtures both friendship and growth. Volunteers and their buddies engage in a wide range of activities, from arts and crafts to reading, tutoring, playing games, or simply spending quality time together. The program creates a space where both the volunteer and the patient can learn new things, have fun, and offer each other companionship and encouragement during challenging times. Think Buddies is not just about providing support—it’s about building relationships that enrich both lives, helping young patients feel less isolated and more empowered, while giving volunteers the chance to make a real difference in someone’s life. Whether it’s through shared laughter, learning, or just being present, Think Buddies cultivates a lasting bond that goes far beyond the hospital walls.
Think Education is a volunteer and student workshop program focused on raising awareness and advocating for children affected by pediatric diseases. Each session begins with a seminar led by medical professionals who are experts in pediatric diseases, offering students a deeper understanding of the medical challenges faced by children. Following the seminar, students participate in creative activities like writing, art, music, and more, where they can explore and express what they've learned in a hands-on way. This structure allows students to first gain expert insights before channeling that knowledge into meaningful creative expression. The goal is to empower students to become advocates, using their voices and creativity to spread awareness and inspire action. By combining expert-led education with creative workshops, Think Education fosters empathy, encourages young people to make a difference in their communities, and equips them with the tools to advocate for children's health in a comprehensive and impactful manner.
